PROFILE - THE PRODUCE

A continual planting program is in place on all 3 properties. 50% of the lychees are under netting with plans to complete the project over the next few seasons. The stonefruit is currently un-netted, however the new 2007 planting budget includes netting which will increase production fivefold. Thanks to the ample supply of water on all properties, irrigation of the trees is guaranteed during the growing season. The dams also attract an abundance of wildlife!

In total, the Tomarata Group produces between 200 and 300 tonnes of lychees and 120 tonnes of stonefruit per annum. Due to the climate differences of each region, our lychee season starts in December and goes through to March. The stonefruit harvest goes from mid September to mid November. The Tomarata Group grows high quality produce thanks to our Integrated Pest Management program (IPM) that monitors the progress of the crop over the whole season. The lychee and stone fruit trees produce very high yields every year which means the Group can reliably harvest and pack a consistent quantity of premium quality lychees and stone fruit each season. Our produce is sold on the domestic and export markets, with exporters actively seeking our brand every time it goes on the market. We also have a SQI HACCP quality assurance system in place to ensure a safe, consistent quality product that meets customer and regulatory specifications and maintains our business reputation as reliable quality suppliers.

Our mission is to continue to be one of the largest lychee growers in Australia, not just for quantity but for first class quality.
